He currently holds positions as Vice President – Sri Lanka Greater Mekong Business Council, Treasurer – Sri Lanka Thailand Business Council and Committee member – Chamber of Construction Industry Sri Lanka and President – Lions Club of Biyagama Circle 306C. Well known for his core skills in networking and stakeholder engagement with Public -Private partners, Venura has also held the position of Chairman – Lanka Rest Houses Ltd under the Ministry of Megapolis & Western Development in the immediate past.
During his long tenure at INSEE, Venura who joined as the Team Lead of IT Operations worked his way through Manager - Organizational Development & Engagement, to Head of External Affairs and Business Development. Previous to this, his work experience was within the banking industry in both Commercial Bank of Ceylon Ltd and NDB Bank Ltd.
He holds his Master of Science Degree in Information Management (MSc) and Postgraduate Diploma in Information Management (PGD) from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), Sri Lanka, Diploma in Frontline Management and Leadership, T&B Solutions affiliated to Tate South Australia and Diploma in Diplomacy & World Affairs Programme in Bandaranaike International Diplomatic Training Institute (BIDTI), the premier institution in Sri Lanka for studies in diplomacy and International Relations.
